Week of October 22

I have shied away from the weekly blog due to time constraints and a few other issues, but I will try to get back into the swing of things on a more occasional basis.

It has been a chaotic start to the school year.  I know tensions and frustrations have been high.  We truly appreciate everyone working through some of these changes/issues.

We have several activities on the horizon.

Pumpkin Patch Challenge

I would like to send out a staff challenge.  Mr. Trevino has granted me the opportunity to create the First Pumpkin Patch Challenge.  There will be nice prizes for the lucky winners.
The challenge is as follows.......you are to create a unique Pumpkin/Jack O Lantern shirt to be worn on October 31.  The most creative and unique entries will get the prizes.  Enter as an individual......enter as a department.....the choice is yours.  The only requirement is to have fun.

The Trophy Case

Do not forget we have the main trophy case near the front office we like to fill with student accolades every year.  If your group receives a trophy, plaque, etc. place it in the case.  Try and get a picture and we will put it on the display screen.

SHS took 10 student to LIT to compete in the Texas Rice Festival competition.  Cody Freeman place 1st while Mason Hollyfield placed 5th.  Awesome job guys!

Items in the truck are prizes won by Cody.

We had a few students participate at the Hardin County Prospect Show.  Kevin Camden placed as Grand Champion while Ally Root Reserve Grand Champion.  Great job!

Our new debate team traveled to West Hardin last weekend.  We had several medal winners.....Joy Cummings, Gavin Merritt, Elianna Auer, Braydon Kiser, Emily Lindahl, and Nicole Duke.
