The Trophy Case

Those early morning training sessions have paid off for both of our Cross Country teams.  They each have qualified for Regionals which will be held on October 23.  We are adding to the Texas Lonestar Cup point total early this year.  Awesome Job!

Mrs. Hardy and Mrs. Welch put in a "super" performance at the TASB convention in Dallas this past weekend.

The swim team has reached the 9 member team mark.  That is the highest total ever for the school.  They are working hard and looking forward to a great season.

Staff Stew

For the past several years I have been looking for information regarding "flipping the classroom".  The idea was to have a means to record lessons which would allow a student the ability to review a lesson multiple times for understanding.  I envisioned a teacher having the ability to "teach" a lesson while they are out. Students in ISS/PACES could receive actual teacher instruction as well as  those students absent,on home-bound, etc.  Last week while visiting the Science department meeting I noticed Mr. McKinney using a program called Doceri.  This program on the surface appears to accomplish some of those aspects.

I have had Mr. McKinney set up a trial classroom.  If you search for a Google Classroom type in the code bgg4b66. This will give a brief example of the program in action.  I encourage everyone to give it a try.  If you know of or come across a similar program please share.  I can add it to the Stew!

Thank you Mr. McKinney for giving a feature to this week's Staff Stew!
