Week of September 26

Normally I struggle on some sort of commentary to open this blog.  This week is different however.  Last week was filled with several activities that highlighted the campus and its future direction.  We had board recognition for our Early College students and hosted our first AVID family night.  During both you could see the pride parents had for their students.  They were tremendous successes, but the questions that arise are how and why?  After last last week the answer is evident.........the school's "Backbone".
Anytime there is an activity we have those people we know we can rely on for help.  They are the "Backbone" to the school.  These folks have a vested interest in the successes of the campus and most importantly the students.  There are far too many people for me to thank for the past few weeks.  I fear I would unintentionally omit naming them.  To the "Backbone" just know your work and efforts do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you continue to do for our school.

Survival Techniques 101

I have had a certain Physics teacher (**cough McKinney cough**) repeatedly/continuously call me out for his lack of a lunch period.  I would like to say I have intently studied his plight and have found a solution.  In this week's Survival Techniques 101 Principal Gerry Brooks offers a magnificent "surggestion" to remedy the issue.  Bon Appetit Alan.
